An honest first two weeks: one signed contract, one stalled deal, three reschedules

Where they started

He came in with a real network and used it — which is also why he was nervous. “The above are all from my personal network with my personal brand on the line. I need to deliver success.”

What they did

Week one: four coffee dates. A solar operator with two franchise locations said yes. A software company and a business coach went to discovery. A hot tub business he turned down himself, because it had no lead generation system. Week two: a three-location gym CEO signed overnight.

What happened

A first signed contract in two weeks — alongside a solar deal that never signed and started showing red flags, and three calls rescheduled because of his own availability.

“I am nervous because the above are all from my personal network with my personal brand on the line. I need to deliver success.”

How it unfolded

  1. Feb 2024

Week one — four coffee dates, one yes

Solar said yes on a 5% back-end deal. Hot tub business declined by him: “not a fit as they don't have a lead gen system.”

  2. Feb 2024

Week two — first signed contract

A three-location gym CEO signed overnight. “While I am not excited about the revenue potential, I am excited I can start executing now.”

  3. Same post

And the parts that went wrong

“Solar #1 still hasn't signed the contract. :/ annoying. I have followed up and they said its on the way but red flags starting to emerge.” Three calls rescheduled.

A note on the numbers

This page exists because most proof pages only show the wins. These two posts are the most complete honest account of a first fortnight in the library, failures included.

After a month of cold outreach with no warm audience to draw on, landed a first coffee date.

I've not been very active here but have been working away doing cold outreach (unfortunately don't have a warm audience) and just got the first coffee date! ... I say finally think it's only been a month but I'm pretty impatient.

Closed a first deal with a roofing company after several months of effort.

I finally closed my first deal today after many months of slogging. In the end, this one came without much resistance. A Roofing company with around 2,000 leads.

Two calls arranged after a week of back-and-forth; both interested and moving to tests.

So some positives, need to work on my call game and getting the details from them, first one was nervous, 2nd one not so much as I had 'validation' from the first one.

Two ways to go from here

Read how the model actually works, or start with the book and see the whole system for the price of a coffee.

This is the one I mentioned — A ROYA member's full story, built from the posts as they happened rather than written up afterwards.

Worth reading the timeline rather than just the headline. The middle is the useful part.
